The concept
Take advantage of the light cold winter snow in January.
We will head out every day on one of the many incredible tours the Queyras has to offer.
The Queyras topography includes several different valleys, each with its own specific weather and snow conditions. We will use this to our advantage to see out the best snow and safest route each and every day.
In the Queyras enjoy completely different ski and snow conditions from one valley to another: from the upper Guil Valley ("Haut Guil") - well known for enjoying the legendary border storms or "retour d'est" (a clash between extremely cold air and a storm depression in the Gulf of Genoa) that drop copious amounts of snow in little time – to the Arvieux, Saint Véran, and Ceillac valleys just a couple dozen minutes from each other by car.
For these clinics we use the local lift system and then continue the ascent on skis to track down the best descents. We can also avoid the lifts altogether if there is no good skiing right outside the ski areas, which is often the case.
By now it should be crystal clear that our Freeride Touring clinics focus on the thrill of the descent and safely making fresh tracks far beyond the ski area boundary.
If this idea sounds enticing, feel free to contact us to sign up for a clinic.
We are flexible. Ski with us all week long or for just a few days.
